Inspired by a variety of notable past music groups, the Mediocres still somehow manage to avoid sounding like any of them. Their particular style of music has become widely regarded as both intriguing and impossible to truly discern. This inspired some to create a new genre of music called “blando”.
The Mediocres' latest album, titled simply “An Album”, was released to lukewarm critical reception. Scandal ensued soon after when The Mediocres' lead guitarist accepted a prestigious Harmonia Award by saying, “I suppose this is okay.” and wandering off the stage.
While the hit-makers at Tyrannosaurus Records can't exactly explain the draw of this group, the numbers don't lie. When it comes to moving product and securing air time, the Mediocres have an inoffensive and flavorless record of reasonable success!
