Item: “Sippy-Dippy” Novelty Drinking Birds
Designation: Prototype (Terminated)
Storage Contact: Oscar Blonk
Number in Storage: 5
Artificial birds of various colors (Red, Green, Blue, Orange, Yellow) that automatically stand erect or dip their heads based on currently unknown factors. Intended for use as promotional and/or novelty displays. Each bird is constructed to resemble a long-legged corvid and each wears a top hat that is actually part of the head.
When a drinking bird's beak is placed in liquid, it will hesitate for a moment before standing upright. After another moment, it will again lower its beak. This process is repeated in a seemingly endless loop and is meant to simulated “Drinking”.
Unlike their well-known predecessors, each bird stands five feet and one inch tall.
Reason for storage:
During testing, drinking birds were transported by a lone shipping clerk. Clerk was discovered soonafter, lying in a pool of his own blood with drinking birds around him, appearing to “sip” it.
Further testing to reproduce this behavior showed that two or more clerks did not observe any odd events. Furthermore, none of the birds exhibited this abnormal behavior when the red bird was not present.
Liquid inside birds inexplicably converted to blood matching the type and DNA of fatalities, though no easily accessed openings exist to transfer said liquids and the original substance could not be located.
Final Order: Permanent Closed Storage.
Further Notes: We've stored the red one away from the others, so you'll see two ID numbers when researching these items.
